rel8 presents "imZERT - world's smallest barcode," enabling manufacturers to mark plastic components with small 2d barcodes.

imZERT Direct Part Marking is carried out during moulding, providing traceability all the way back to this process. The high level of contrast for these marks support scanning with both Vision and smartphones.

Marking of e.g. mould and cavity number directly on the plastic part provides many opportunities to strengthen quality and production reliably:
- automated quality inspection with barcode-enabled part recognition reduces manual labor and the risk of mistakes
- assembly processes are strengthened against errors in internal logistics
- deliveries from subsuppliers can be verified accurately, reducing the risk of costly errors.

ImZERT can also be used as a watermark embedded in the product, to enable detection of pirated/counterfeited products.
