NiMH batteries

Celltech A/S

There are so many things to consider when choosing a battery system. How does it use power? Does it require fast recharging? What is the ambient temperature during charging and discharging? The desired overall lifespan? Price? All of these factors are important.

Some batteries are used as backup for critical systems such as life support, while others simply ensure longer operating time. However, it is always worth investigating the scope, size and maintenance requirements – to make the right investment.
We often see that people focus on Lithium-based batteries when providing a rechargeable battery solution and thus overlook Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries.
NiMH batteries are produced in different series such as good properties for discharge, high temperature, long cycle life, fast charging, relatively high energy density and more.
Compared to lithium solutions, NiMH batteries do not require built-in safety electronics. In addition, NiMH battery solutions do not require UN38.3 approval, which is expensive and difficult to transport.

The Celltech Group has decades of experience in developing and producing battery solutions for individual customer needs. Let us guide you through the wilderness of batteries, requirements, approvals and more.
