"Components" as a term for the electronics building blocks is no longer comprehensive.
As EOT – Electronics of Tomorrow – will show users, the trend is towards "systems" rather than discrete (standalone) components. Systems must add intelligence to electronics and device designs, so that manufacturers and developers can concentrate on the core function of the products. For end users, the power supply, processor architecture and radio part of a product do not matter. It is the core application that is the important thing.
EOT will show designers and OEMs alike the shortest path to developing tomorrow's electronic products.
